In addition, up-to-date information about admissions can be found in the most recent University of Regina calendar. However, the most common questions asked by prospective Engineering and Applied Science students can be found here, along with links to the corresponding main university pages.

Do I qualify?

Students must have the following Saskatchewan high school courses or equivalent courses and averages to be accepted into the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science:

  • English Language Arts A30 and B30*

  • Math B30 and Math C30**

  • Chemistry 30 and Physics 30

  • Minimum required average is 70%. Applicants with averages between 65% and 70% will be placed on a waitlist and may be accepted if space is available.

  • For Environmental Health Science, the minimum required average is 65%.

* - Fransaskois/Immersion students may use one of Français fransaskois A30/B30 or Français immersion in combination with either one of the English Language Arts courses.

** - Calculus 30 is also recommended

See under Admissions for more information.

Students from other provinces, other countries, or students who have already completed courses at the post-secondary level, or mature/returning students may be accepted according to the university's approved admission requirements based on their application category (see Admission Requirements - What type of student are you?).

International Students might need to meet additional requirements, including English Language Equivalency requirements. See Admissions/International for more information.

Conditional Early Admission for High School Students

High school students in Saskatchewan may be eligible for conditional early admission based on courses taken and grades achieved to date (some conditions apply). See under Admissions for more information.

If you do not have these equivalent courses, the University of Regina offers courses in some core areas that allow students to complete the equivalent high school prerequisites if necessary. For example, Chemistry 100 Introductory Chemistry is offered as a prerequisite for Chemistry 104 General Chemistry I for those students who have not received a minimum grade of 70% in Chemistry 30 within the past 4 years. See the current course catalogue for such course offerings. While a student may not be admitted to the Faculty without these equivalent prerequisites, students may have the opportunity to essentially make up these credits through these supplementary courses. It may be possible to be admitted to the University of Regina under a different faculty, make up the prerequisites, and transfer to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science provided all faculty transfer conditions are met (see Faculty Transfer Information in the Calendar).
